Edna Mae Henry Wasik, or Scottie as she was known to friends and family passed away on October 25th, 2014 at Legends Care Center in Massillon, Ohio. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, she was 88 at the time of her death. Her parents were George McBrearty Henry of Glasgow and Anne Fraser Henry of Duntocher, Scotland. Her five brothers and sister were also born in Scotland. After going to business school for secretarial science, she was employed at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She married Henry Wasik in 1950 and moved to Massillon, Ohio, where they had eight children. She was very devoted to her family, church and friends, and was a longtime parishioner at St. Joan of Arc and all Saints Parishes. She and her husband Henry started and managed a property management business. Her husband Henry Wasik passed in 2004. She is survived by her children Dave and Peggy Wasik, John and Jomarie Wasik, Anthony and Cindy Wasik, Jim and Theresa Milk, Pat and Connie Wasik, Mike and Karen Wasik, Henry and Tina Wasik, and Chris and Johann Wasik, as well as fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church (Canton), Fr Thomas Kraszewski will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 5-7 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home.
