Dorothy M. Luckner

Dorothy M. Luckner age 87 of Massillon passed away Thursday January 22, 2009 at Chapel Hill. Dorothy was born November 19, 1921 in Massillon to the late Francis J. & Olivia (Spuhler) McMahon. She was a 1939 graduate of Mt. Marie High School and retired in 1980 from Sears in Massillon. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Christian Mothers – Altar Rosary Society of the church and the Massillon Women’s Club. She spent her leisure time volunteering at Massillon City Hospital, and the United Way. Dorothy would spend hours with her grandchildren discussing current events, politics and history. She was preceded in death by her husband William J. Luckner (2007), a sister Helen Fitzgerald and a grandson Jeffrey Simon (1970). Dorothy is survived by three children and spouses: Suzanne & Roland Simon, Gregory Luckner and Brian & Danielle Luckner; a sister Maryanne McGuire, grandchildren Christopher Simon, Adam Simon, Eric Luckner, George Luckner, Harry Luckner and five great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her pastor Fr. Raymond Paul will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
