Donald M. Elavsky, 87, of Massillon, passed away on March 11, 2024, at Aultman Hospital.
He was born on July 26, 1936, to the late Michael and Anna (Bosco) Elavsky at Massillon, OH.
He was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1954. A veteran of The United States Army. He then returned home and worked at Eaton Manufacturing until his retirement. Don was very good with his hands. He liked repairing things and built his own home. He was dedicated to his family. He loved Tiger Football, traveling and working on cars. He was member of St. John Lutheran Church, Massillon.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty (Haube) Elavsky; their children, Denise A. (Christopher) Kirkbride and Donald M. Elavsky, grandchildren, Brian Kirkbride, Kyle (Caroline O'Keefe) Kirkbride, Matthew (Rachel O'Neal) Kirkbride, Preston (Kelsey) Elavsky, and Madison (Martez Lemon) Elavsky; great-grandchild, Malani Lemon; and a brother, Robert (Janet) Elavsky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Michael A. (Carol) Elavsky, Lillian (Paul) Spinden, and Eugene (Mary Marie) Elavsky.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 22, 2024, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, with funeral services following at 12:00pm, Pastor Jon Carpenter officiating. The service will also be livestreamed for those that cannot attend and can be viewed by clicking "view live webcast" at the bottom of the page under service.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
