Dena S. Williams

Dena S. Williams, 74, of Massillon, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. Dena was born on January 12, 1948, in Massillon, the daughter of the late William and Margee (Saunders) Hardy. She was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1966 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Dena worked for K-Mart and retired after 28 years of service. She loved gardening, flowers, and nature, primarily birds and squirrels. She also spent a lot of time crocheting and making prayers shawls for Mercy Hospice. Dena most of all loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Bridenthal. She is survived by her sons, Timothy, and Steven Williams; brothers, James Hardy, John (Dawn) Hardy, and Michael Hardy; grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Natalie, and Ashley; great-granddaughter, Annalee; nieces and nephews, Bill, Matt, Denise, Sarah, Jessica, Emily, Kate, and Patrick; 1st cousin, Sam Harvey, Jr.; best friends, Fran Novak and Carol Connelly; and numerous other friends and family members. A Celebration of Dena’s life will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and on Monday from 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.
