David H. Clapper, Sr.

David H. Clapper Sr., 81, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. David was born on May 16, 1941, in Canton, Ohio to the late Harold Clapper and Doratha (Lindsay) Clapper. He was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School. He retired from the Timken Company after 37 1/2 years of service. David loved water skiing, boating, and camping with his family. He enjoyed working in his yard. He was a Massillon Tiger and Cleveland Indians fan. David thoroughly enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities, including sporting events, band shows, and awards ceremonies. He truly loved his children and grandchildren. His legacy was his family. David was a United States Army Reserve veteran. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Ann (Ketler) Clapper whom he shared 59 years of marriage; children, Dana Martin, David (Jill) Jr., and Kelly (Branden) Weisgarber; grandchildren, Bradley, Brittany (Fiancée Nick May), and Lindsay Martin, Ryan (Lauen Shank), and Nathan (Jessica) Clapper, Ethan (Rachel) Weisgarber, Lauren (Jordan) Barker, and Erin Weisgarber. Private services will take place at a later date. He will be laid to rest at Brookfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
