David (Dave/Davey) MacIsaac Crookston, 51, beloved husband, father, brother, family, and
friend, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023, in Massillon, Ohio. He was born
on January 13, 1972 to the late David John and Sally Ann (MacIsaac) Crookston in Canton,
Ohio. He was a 1990 graduate of Massillon Washington High School and earned his Bachelor's
degree in Exercise Medicine from Kent State University. On July 4, 2022, after 25 years as an
Exercise Physiologist, he started a new venture as the proud owner of Crookston Handyman
Services.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Christa; his children Jordan (Sophia Sponseller), Camdyn
(Hayden Wheeler), Jaidan (Dyson Clapier), Braden, Adelyn, and Aidyn; father-in-law Richard
Thompson; mother-in-law Mary (Kelly) McMurty; sisters Holly (Kelly) Herron and Beth (Corey)
Williams and sister-in-law April (Vince) Rike; niece Kearsi (Anthony) Ruffin; nephews Curtis
Williams and Jordan Collins; and a dedicated extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and
friends.
A devoted family man, Dave used selfless love, genuine care, and goofy humor to deeply affect
and create lasting impressions and relationships with everyone who knew him. His dedication to
the church and ministry of love and spirit reverberated through every aspect of his life - from his
loving marriage and parenting to his unending willingness to help.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held at the Faith Family Church Freedom Campus, Chapel
Entrance B, on Wednesday, April 26, from 11am-12pm. The family will receive family and friends
there from 10-11am before the service.
