Craig Lee Burdett, 61, of Canton, Ohio, having succumbed to cancer, passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 11th. A kindhearted and benevolent man, Craig spent most of his life in the Canton area, marrying the love of his life Susan E. Newell on May 18, 1974. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Marjorie L. Burdett. Craig is survived by his wife Susan; daughter Kimberley H. Burdett and spouse Megan R. Jukich; daughter Jaclyn K. Norris and husband Scott Norris with grandchildren, Kaleigh R. Norris and Austin D. Norris; son Brent C. Burdett and spouse Nina N. Kalinski with granddaughter Charlie I. Burdett; brother Ronald K. Burdett and wife Susan A. with niece Olivia and nephew Robert and many more extended family and friends. Craig was a loyal employee to the Timken Company for over 35 years before more recently lending his expertise to the Five Bronx, Inc. As a passionate supporter to the local football community, Craig officiated for almost 35 years and participated in a variety of activities and events that promoted the sport and its camaraderie. Always a family man, in more recent years his kindness and consideration focused on his grandchildren whom he adored. Craig was respected by family, friends and colleagues alike; and whilst his departure and that loss will be felt by many, his legacy will be those fond memories which shall always remain. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, OH. A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Stephens Martyr Lutheran Church , 4600 Fulton Dr. NW, Canton, OH, with Pastor Kimberly Vaughn officiating. Friends may also pay their respects to the family from 10-11 A.M. at the church. Cremation of his remains will follow the service. The family appreciates everyone's generous support, but asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to East Ohio Football Officials Association Scholarship Fund, Brain Cancer Research or any charity of their choice.
