Clement Frederick Konen

November 24, 1926 — January 30, 2013

Clement Frederick Konen, 86, of Jackson Twp. passed away January 30th at his residence surrounded by family and close friend, Gerri Shamp RN. He was born November 24, 1926 to the late Frederick Jacob & Florence Martha (Boron) Konen in North Lawrence. Clement attended St. Barbara School and Washington High School. Clement began working for Canton Chair & Table Co in 1949 and retired as president of the company. He was a Charter member of Rotary International of Perry Twp. and member of various organizations. He served several years as parade committee member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton. In addition to his parents, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death; Arthur Konen, Mary Schalmo and Martha Seifert. Clement is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary D. (Bamberger) Konen, daughters, Mary Ann Konen of Jackson Twp., Colleen L. Rowland of Austin, TX., Rosemary Konen of Houston, TX., granddaughter Melinda L. Rowland, brother Carl L. (Beverly) Konen, many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. His final resting place will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Memorials can be sent to either Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County or the memorial fund at St. Joan of Arc Church.
