Clara M. Vogt

Clara M. Vogt, age 91 of Massillon, died on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Laurels of Massillon. She was born on March 1, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Wanda A. (Smith) Voorhes. She was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Massillon Senior Center and the AMVETS Post 6. Clara enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon H. Vogt in 1983, her daughter Marilyn K. Vogt, her brothers, George & Elmer Voorhes , her sister, Eva Louise Speicher Simpson and her daughter in laws, Pam Vogt and Mary Vogt. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda M. Forester of Massillon and her son Charles G. “Chuck” Vogt of Massillon, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Clara was a foster parent to more than 60 children. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Burkhardt. Burial will follow in Brookfield Cemetery.
