Catherine Anna Ulrich Ickes

Catherine Anna Ulrich Ickes, age 91 of Jackson Township, passed away on Saturday January 14, 2012 at the Sterling House of Canton. She was born in Dillonvale, Ohio on April 25, 1920 to the late William and Anna May (Waller) Bane. A Mothers's Love like the love of Christ is Patient, Kind, True and Unconditional. We praise God and pray thanking Him for His son Jesus Christ and for Catherine and the Promise of Eternity. Catherine was member of The Order of the Eastern Star, the Canton Baptist Temple and was a past president of the Massillon City Hospital Volunteers. She was preceded in death by husbands, Thomas Ulrich and Harold "Dick" Ickes; daughter, Thomasine Kay Ulrich, three sisters and five brothers. She is survived by a daughter, Carla and Richard Hughes of Massillon; three grandsons, Guy (Donna), Scott and Todd Hughes; five great grandchildren; great-great grandchild, Autumn Grace and a great-great grandson to be born in May; step daughter, Florence and Robert Palmer of Massillon; step granddaughter, Vicki Palmer of Massillon; great nephew, Steven Lawrence of Jackson Township; brother, Earl and Earline Bane of California. Her funeral will be 2:00 PM Thursday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon, the Rev. George Edwards will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
