Betty J. Smith

Betty J. Smith, age 86 of Navarre, died on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon. She was born on December 29, 1925 in Canton and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Rose (Fready) Van Kirk. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald and Robert Van Kirk. She is survived by her husband, Howard L. Smith to whom she was married for 56 years. Also surviving are her sons, Larry (Jeanette) Smith, Howard, Jr. (Lora) Smith and Allen (Pam) Smith, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, her brother Dale (Ida) Van Kirk and her sister Donna Welch. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Newman's Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M.
