Barbara A. Friedrichsen

Barbara A. “Penny” Friedrichsen, age 75 of Perry Twp., passed away on September 07, 2018. She was born on October 19, 1942 to the late James and Kathryn (Seifert) Ackerman Sr. in Massillon, Ohio. She married James E. Friedrichsen Jr. on September 05, 1964 and they shared 54 years together. Penny enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was active in the Marriage Encounter movement and at St. Joan of Arc as an Eucharistic Minister. She also enjoyed discovering and reconnecting to distant relatives through her genealogy hobby. Penny is survived by her husband Jim; her children James (Martha) Friedrichsen III and Danielle (Toby) Karyadi; her grandchildren Benjamin, Samantha, Melissa, Jacquelyn, Caitlin, Xavier and Tristan; her sister, Mary Benjamin; her half-sister Linda (Michael) Ivan and her half-brothers Thomas (Patricia) Ackerman and Michael (Michelle) Ackerman as well as a host of family and friends. Penny was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Jeanne Sexton and her brother James Ackerman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Fr. David Weikart officiating.
