Arthur A. Mclaughlin

Arthur A. McLaughlin age 74 of Canton passed away Thursday at Aultman Hospital after a long illness. He was born April 21, 1934 in Massillon to the late Edwin E. & Violet (Wetzel) McLaughlin. He served in the Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne and was stationed in Germany. Art worked in the construction trades. He loved all sports, especially following the Tigers, Browns and Indians. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Bret (2007) and two sisters; Doris Fockler and Diane Lynn McLaughlin. He is survived by his wife Lillian (Ackelson) McLaughlin of Canton, they were together for 53 years. They have five children: Sheila Robbins, Arthur ‘Butch’ (Tracy) McLaughlin, Cheryl Thompson, Pam & Thomas Thompson and Lorraine (Danny) Elliott. He has six sisters and brothers: Helen Widder, Beverly (David) Worshil, Sharon McLaughlin, Donna Selogy, Edwin L. McLaughlin and William McLaughlin. There are 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery.
